Our Story
Humble Beginnings
Strong Contractors was founded by Matteo Mazzullo-Revel as a residential shingle roofing company, originally operating under the name Staying Strong LLC.
A Storm That Changed Everything
A devastating hailstorm with baseball-sized hail hits Colorado. The surge in demand for roof replacements opens the door to our first commercial projects—and shifts the future of our business. The company is officially incorporated as Strong Contractors Inc., laying the foundation for long-term growth and professional expansion.
Commitment to Foam & Coatings
Matteo recognized early that foam and coating systems were the future of roofing. With that vision, we made a full commitment to seamless liquid-applied systems—positioning ourselves at the forefront of roofing innovation in Colorado. That same year, we invested our last $10,000 to fly in Benjy Abbott, a legend in the industry, for hands-on training at our farm. We refused to experiment on our clients and built our foundation on getting it right from the beginning—a standard we still uphold today.
Earning Industry Credibility
We focused on gaining certifications that would set us apart in a rapidly evolving industry. That year, Strong Contractors became the first Spray Polyurethane Foam Alliance (SPFA) Accredited Contractor Company in Colorado—and to this day, we remain the only roofing contractor in the state to hold this highly respected credential.
Leadership Through Action
Matteo remained in the field, personally spraying roofs and setting the standard for excellence. His hands-on experience spans all major roofing systems, which shaped the way we train, manage, and perform work across the company. Matteo and Monika also attended Polyurea University in Kansas, reinforcing our position at the cutting edge of industry innovation.
A Turning Point in Demand
COVID-era supply chain disruptions delayed traditional systems, and building owners began turning to spray foam and liquid-applied roofing solutions. The demand surged for the very systems we had already mastered—validating our early commitment to innovation.
A Portfolio That Speaks Volumes
We built a robust portfolio of commercial and industrial projects across Colorado, including work for the U.S. Army, U.S. Space Force, Fort Carson, UCHealth, Kaiser Permanente, Denver Zoo, and more. This year, we made a strategic decision to focus exclusively on commercial and industrial projects—where our expertise delivers the greatest long-term value.
National Recognition for Growth
Strong Contractors earned a place on the Inc. 5000 list as one of America’s fastest-growing private construction companies, highlighting years of disciplined growth, technical mastery, and doing things the right way.
Industry Excellence Honored
We received the SPFA Industry Excellence Award, a national recognition of our commitment to quality, innovation, and best practices in spray foam roofing. This milestone reflects the expertise, discipline, and leadership that have shaped Strong Contractors from the very beginning.

Outside of work, we’re raising two kids and a whole crew of animals on our small farm here in Colorado.
